Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO) is a State-owned Entity providing waste management services to cities and inhabitant islands across the Maldives. WAMCO is tasked with operating Regional Facilities as well as overall waste management operations in all cities throughout the country. On January 1st, 2016, the corporation officially started its operations by taking over the waste management function for the Greater Malé Region and has since expanded into additional locations across the country.

Ahmed Nasif
Chairman
Mr. Ahmed Nasif is the newly appointed Chairman of Waste Management Corporation (WAMCO), bringing with him a wealth of experience across multiple sectors, including public administration, corporate management, education, and international consultancy. With over two decades of diverse professional experience, Mr. Nasif is recognized for his leadership, strategic insight, and dedication to sustainable development.
Mr. Nasif is also well regarded in the academic field, having served as a college lecturer and corporate trainer for over 15 years.
Mr. Nasif holds a Master of Business Administration (International) from the Australian College for Business and Technology, affiliated with Edith Cowan University, Australia, obtained in 2007.
Mr. Nasif’s broad expertise, coupled with his commitment to public service and sustainable development, positions him as a strong leader to guide WAMCO in addressing the nation’s environmental and waste management challenges.
Mujuthaba Jaleel
Managing Director
Mr. Mujuthaba has a very successful career, serving as the Secretary General of Malé City Council since 2021, following his roles as the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, CEO of the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA), and Chief Audit Executive of Villa Group. He was the Financial Specialist involved in setting up the Maldives Pension Office and later served as a Board Member of the Maldives Pension Office.
He has vast experience in the financial sector, holding positions such as Audit Committee Chair at Maldives Transport & Contracting Company (MTCC), Maldives Pension Office, and others.
He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and a Master's Degree in Financial Business Management from Kingston University, London. He is also a Certified Chartered Accountant and is presently pursuing a PhD focused on the complexities of dual banking systems in Islamic Banking at Management & Science University of Malaysia (MSU).

Ibrahim Naif
Deputy Managing Director
Ibrahim Naif is a dedicated and results-oriented professional with extensive experience across both public and private sector organizations. He previously served as the Deputy Managing Director of Fenaka Corporation, where he played a key role in executive decision-making and contributed to the effective oversight of critical organizational functions.
Over the course of his career, Ibrahim has held a range of positions within the private sector, developing strong expertise in business operations, coordination, and administrative management. His professional journey reflects a consistent commitment to operational efficiency, organizational excellence, and continuous improvement.
He holds a Diploma in Business Administration and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree, further enhancing his academic foundation and leadership capabilities. His ongoing professional development demonstrates a clear commitment to growth and advancement in the field of business management.
Ahmed Ibrahim
Assistant Managing Director
Ahmed Ibrahim is a highly experienced procurement and operations professional with over 25 years of leadership experience in the fisheries sector. He has a strong background in strategic sourcing, contract management, bid coordination, and administrative operations.
Throughout his career, he has held senior roles at MIFCO & Koodoo Fisheries, including Head of Procurement, Deputy Manager, and Bid Committee Chairperson, where he successfully managed complex operational processes and procurement strategies. Earlier in his career, he worked in the Accounts Department at the Ministry of Fisheries & Agriculture. Ahmed is recognized for his leadership skills, organizational efficiency, and expertise in driving effective procurement and business operations

She has built a distinguished career through executive leadership roles across both government institutions and the private sector, demonstrating a consistent track record in strengthening governance frameworks and ensuring organizational integrity.
Currently serving at WAMCO, Ms. Najuwa plays a strategic role in advancing corporate compliance standards and supporting effective board governance practices.
She holds an Associate’s Degree in Business Management and a Higher National Diploma in Business from Pearson College. Further strengthening her academic portfolio, she earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Bedfordshire, UK, and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of the West of England, UK.
Her multidisciplinary background in business and law enables her to provide integrated, high-level advisory on corporate governance, risk management, and statutory compliance.
